Emcee Katie Crowther
Born and raised the suburbs of Detroit, Katie attended John Carroll University and the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University before starting her television career in Rockford, IL. She’s covered the news in Cleveland, Chicago, Washington, D.C., New York City, and Las Vegas before joining Milwaukee’s TMJ4 as a Reporter and Anchor. Katie is excited to call Milwaukee her new home, and looks forward to getting more involved in her new city.

Chief Executive Officer, Ann Leinfelder Grove
Ann’s leadership as CEO, as well as her guidance within the organization for over 31 years, has been instrumental in developing SaintA’s best practices for trauma-informed care, known as the Seven Essential Ingredients (7ei), as well as the Five Pillars of Stability. She guides the organization with a vision to continue to move from a responsive agency to one that actively promotes a culture of equity and inclusion, provides early interventions for childhood trauma and attempts to prevent future generations from facing adversity.

Psychiatrist and Children’s Mental Health Expert, Dr. Bruce Perry
Dr. Bruce D. Perry is an American psychiatrist, currently the senior fellow of the Child Trauma Academy in Houston, Texas and an adjunct professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. At the forefront of children’s mental health and the neurosciences, he is also the author of several books, including his latest, co-authored with Oprah Winfrey, titled, “What Happened to You?: Conversations on Trauma, Resilience, and Healing.”

Special Guest, Carole Meekins
We’re thrilled to welcome Carole Meekins, who leads a discussion with Ann Leinfelder Grove and Dr. Perry. Carole is an Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter who has been in television journalism for more than three decades. She currently anchors the TMJ4 evening news, as well TMJ4’s Sunday show, “Positively Milwaukee.”

Vocalist Khalia Baker and Musical Arranger Maurice Cotton
Milwaukee native Khalia Baker captivates and inspires audiences with her commanding voice and the power and passion of her performance. Maurice Cotton, a locally- and nationally-known arranger, composer and musician, masterfully brings all genres of music to life. Together, Mrs. Baker and Mr. Cotton have rendered notable performances for over 15 years, including their annual “Season of Love” fundraiser concert supporting high school seniors and the Joy House program at the Milwaukee Rescue Mission.

Poet, Jasmine Sims
Jasmine Sims is a spoken word artist and author. It is her hope to inspire and encourage all those who experience her work. Through her writing workshops, she is able to assist others in finding their voices and accepting their unique stories.
