Milwaukee, Wis. (2/27/13) –- President and CEO Teri Zywicki has been appointed by the governor to a three-year term on the state’s Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board. The panel promotes research and strategies that help prevent child abuse and neglect. It also is charged with promoting community responsibility and public awareness about protecting children from abuse and neglect.
Board members include representatives from many segments of society, including government, education, health care, business, the criminal justice system and human services. The 10 public members are appointed on the basis of their expertise, leadership or advocacy in preventing child abuse and neglect.
The board, which has oversight of the Children’s Trust Fund, was created 30 years ago, making Wisconsin one of the first states in the nation to have a special fund dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect.
